Autograph letter signed, dated : [n.p., Regensburg?], "Charfreÿtag," [i.e. 19 April 1867?], to an unidentified Kapellmeister, 1867 Apr. 19?.

Sending two pieces of music [overtures?] apparently by the recipient's father, saying he had heard the first but that the second was not known to him, that both works were not only well made but equally as well invented ("gut erfunden")--the two factors that serve Mettenleiter as criteria of a musical creation--, noting in contrast how immature ("schülerhaft") Rübezahl [by Charles Oberthür?] is, and adding that he has made arrangements regarding the music journals, that he will send them to the theatre via the house porter Pleyer [or Pleger] for him every Monday night but that they must be returned to him on Tuesday nights by 7:00 at the latest, etc.; the first half of the letter has not been fully deciphered.
